Anna’s House will be a safe home for mothers and children struggling with homelessness in Oakland.
Anna’s House recognizes that many factors contribute to housing instability, including prior experiences with sexual assault or domestic violence. Anna’s House will offer a safe community for mothers who are working to overcome past trauma and striving to provide a loving, nurturing home for their children.
Anna’s House is named after Anna, a mother, sister, daughter and friend, who lost her life tragically after many years struggling with trauma resulting from sexual violence. BACS made the down payment for Anna’s House using funds donated in Anna’s memory and completed a gorgeous remodel to accommodate multiple families. Anna’s House officially opened its doors in 2024.

We have raised $550,000 so far! Huge thank you to everyone who has donated to date.
We still need to raise $315,000 to pay off the mortgage and renovation costs and cover the first year of operating expenses. We also seek to create a $1 million endowment fund to support Anna’s House. A fund of this size will produce enough annual income to fully cover the cost of operating the house. To discuss a gift via stock or other method, please contact Nora Daly at ndaly@bayareacs.org.
