Staff Had a Blast at Appreciation Picnic
100 staff, friends, and family members of BACS spent a beautiful day in the sunshine at Lake Chabot. Our staff played lawn games, enjoyed grilled goodies, and won exciting prizes like tickets to A’s games, extra days off, tickets to the New Parkway, an iPad, and more.
BACS is fortunate to have an incredible, talented, and dedicated staff. Thank you to everyone who came!

Mural at Towne House
Darren L., Artist-In-Residence at the Health and Human Resource Education Center (HHREC), is working with BACS on a large mural at Towne House!
Darren is proud to be a former participant of the BACS Wellness Center, and is happy he gets to be involved in its beautification. “This mural reminds me of all the good times I had at Towne House, and all of the collaborations that we all have at Towne House. All the peers stick together, and get to be who we are.”
The mural will depict some of the most popular activities at Towne House, including cooking and gardening classes. Thank you, Darren, for our new, beautiful mural, and we cannot wait to display the finished piece!
Employee of the Month
BACS has an All-Star staff! Below, we honor our “Employee of the Month” for September!
Barbara McAuliffe, Controller, Finance Team:
Barbara has been involved with BACS for more than 26 years. She worked for BACS for 25 years, then retired. But Barbara always goes above and beyond the call of duty! She is currently taking time out of her retirement to facilitate smooth transition of leadership in the Finance department.
BACS continues to benefit from her 25+ years of experience, and she has been generous sharing her knowledge. Barbara enthusiastically takes on detailed projects, including closing out the fiscal year finances. BACS is a favorite around the office, as she is always kind-hearted towards staff and participants.
Congratulations, Barbara!
BACS Announces Gender-Inclusive Access
Towne House has established gender inclusive bathrooms! In the spirit of providing a safe, welcoming space to everyone, all Towne House Wellness Center bathrooms are now gender inclusive. We seek to align with communities who identify with and outside of the gender binary and strive to ensure everyone participating at Towne House feels accepted and welcome.
