BACS Participant Turns 100 Years Old!
Toshiko, a participant at our Fremont Memory Care program, turned 100 this month! Our Fremont team celebrated with her and her daughter by sharing stories of Toshiko’s history, eating cake, and learning a traditional Japanese fan dance.

Helping People with Mental Health Challenges Get Jobs Increases their Health and Happiness
The Alameda County BHCS Vocational Program, in collaboration with Bay Area Community Services and other Community Organizations and supporters, recently hosted the Second Annual Northern California Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Learning Conference. The IPS Learning Conference goal was to raise awareness and interest around the IPS Evidenced Based Practice and how meaningful employment facilitates wellness and recovery, hope and self-efficacy, for individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness. Thunder Road provides substance use treatment and intensive residential services to youth and their families, affecting more than 7,000 adolescents since 1987.
