Senior Transportation

Many seniors are too frail to drive on their own, and getting around town on rapid transit can be very tiring, even dangerous.

Because of this, BACS developed the senior transportation program to help seniors get to specific, preset locations in Alameda County.

The shuttle operates Monday and Tuesday, from
10:30 AM to 2:30 PM at no charge to the riders.

Requesting Transportation

Residential Services Coordinators at each pick-up location can provide residents with a transportation form to complete with their travel date, time, and destination.

The transportation form is then faxed or emailed to the BACS Transportation Program one day in advance. The next day, the riders are picked up as scheduled.

The shuttle is staffed with a driver and an attendant who transports the riders to and from their destinations and provides boarding assistance and package storage.

For more information, please contact the Transportation Program.

Additional funding has been provided by the East Bay Community Foundation and through a portion of your tax dollars, via City of Oakland Measure B funds.

Senior Shuttle Expansion Project

BACS has been approved for funding through the Alameda Transportation Commissionto expand the senior shuttle service to the Oakland areas of Dimond, Fruitvale and East.
