BACS enjoys a wide range of formal and informal partnerships with universities, service agencies, faith-based organizations, and community groups. Key PartnershipsUCSF/NIMH: BACS is engaged with the University of California, San Francisco, and the National Institute of Mental Health in a long-term study of depression in older adults. Partnering with Dr. Patricia Areán of UCSF, we are exploring evidence-based practices to develop outreach treatment programs. AARP:
The American Association of Retired People provides training for our volunteers in the money management program, to provide hands-on help to organize seniors’ finances and ensure that bills are paid correctly and on time. NAMI: BACS participates with the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill in many programs, including the annual NAMIWALKS campaign to promote recovery and prevent abandonment of those with mental illness. Each year, thousands of concerned citizens walk together to raise money and awareness.
