  • Cost: A donation of $2.25-$2.75 (depending on income) is requested.

Funding for this program is provided by the Alameda County Area Agency on Aging, the City of Oakland's Community Development Block Grant Funds, and private donors.

Dexter is an 81-year-old Oakland resident. After his wife passed away, he was relying on canned soups and microwave dinners, aggravating his high blood pressure.

Dexter turned to BACS for help. He now enjoys healthy food and a daily visit from our friendly drivers.

Dexter remains proudly independent in his own home, healthy and cared for.
