Each year BACS helps over 4000 people remain independent, well-nourished, and connected with their communities. Without BACS, many of these people would need to live in institutional settings, such as nursing homes or residental mental health facilities. Estimating the Cost of CareAARP estimates the cost of institutional care for seniors in Alameda County at approximately $200 per day. NAMI estimates the cost of in-patient mental health services at about the same rate. So it’s easy to do the math: With a budget of less than $10M, BACS bridges the gap between dependence and independence in a very cost-effective manner. We offer clear and substantial savings to our community, with far more satisfying outcomes. Key Funding Sources
