In 2007, BACS initiated its Culinary Social Enterprise Kitchen. Our goal is to create a sustainable nutrition program based on organic local food, a breadth of culinary techniques and styles, reduced waste, and recycling.

Meals for Change is an exciting new line of all-natural, ready-cooked retail food entrees—with all earnings supporting BACS programs.  Simply put, there is absolutely nothing like our Social Enterprise Kitchen anywhere.

Meals for Change simultaneously:

- Strengthens Our Community – and the resources available to our most vulnerable citizens.

- Supports Family Farmers – and helps maintain vibrant greenbelt areas.

- Reduces Our Carbon Footprint – and the environmental impact associated with getting food to our tables.

- Creates a Sustainable, Local Economy – and a replicable model that can enable social programs throughout the Bay Area (and beyond) to become more self-sufficient.

Our kitchen will expand the nutritional services we provide and create jobs, while providing fresh, appetizing, healthy meals at a reasonable cost for senior centers, community groups, and other supportive agencies.
