Our Programs

BACS regional CLCs offer a day program based on a clubhouse model, which encourages:

  • communicating and making friends

  • developing social and independent living skills

  • building good work habits

  • learning how to manage symptoms of illness

  • becoming connected with the community

  • exploring potential job-related activities

Members work on individual goals and contribute to the daily operation of the house. They may choose to work in menu planning and meal preparation, cultivating the organic garden, grounds maintenance, clerical duties, newsletter production, crafts, or social/recreational events.

By sharing these household responsibilities, members govern their environment and take ownership for their actions and their outcomes.

Kayann has been in the mental health system for 34 years, and has attended BACS' Towne House CLC for nine years .

“I give thanks for how much Towne House has helped me and how much better my life is today. I can think more clearly, I’m not fantasizing or hallucinating, and I'm better at weathering highs and lows. I can’t believe how far I’ve come.”
